Overview of the project
The project encompassed the design of an app to manage bookings for available spaces, event registrations organized by the association, and enrollment in professional-led courses within those spaces.
In parallel, we designed the internal space layout, selected appropriate technology to enable autonomous operations, and defined the range of "extra" services offered.
This was achieved through close collaboration with a development team that guided the technical choices and implementation.
My role
My role involved designing the physical and digital experience of the studios, contributing to the visual identity and UI development, and organizing and managing weekly progress meetings with the client and developers.
Desk Research
We conducted in-depth market research to identify the main recording studios and rehearsal rooms in the Milan area.
In particular, we focused on studio sizes, available equipment, booking methods, and pricing.
Interviews
We conducted eight interviews with musicians across the sector, delving into their habits, market gaps, differences between studios, relationship with technology, and usage frequency.
Physical Space
As a first step, drawing from the research phase findings and working closely with developers, we identified the optimal way to automate the physical space. We selected Sclak, the solution that best met both our design/development needs and the client's requirements.
Visual Design
Starting from PianoLink's existing identity, we drew inspiration from the world's most renowned art galleries, museums, and theaters to highlight PianoLink Studios' artistic essence.
Crafting the User Experience of the Application
Thanks to insights gathered from the interviews, we identified the core features and, in close collaboration with the client, first designed the app's architecture and then detailed all user flows.
User Interface
As the final step, we applied the previously designed visual concept to the wireframes, creating all the application's interfaces.
